What size is an iPhone Duo wallpaper?
Apple lists the iPhone Duo cover display at 1398 x 2034 pixels and the inner display at 1878 x 2670 pixels. A wallpaper made at exactly those sizes is shown without scaling.
| Display | Pixels (Apple spec) | Pixel density (Apple spec) |
|---|---|---|
| Outer (cover) | 1398 x 2034 | 460 ppi |
| Inner | 1878 x 2670 | 430 ppi |
Landscape or portrait for the inner display?
Apple does not document this. Apple's design images show the inner Home Screen in landscape, and Apple's user guide says the inner display faces you in portrait in the seated pose. Twofold saves either: 2670 by 1878 wide or 1878 by 2670 upright.
Same shape on both screens?
Very nearly. By Apple's pixel counts the cover display is about 0.687 wide for every 1 tall and the inner display about 0.703, a difference of roughly 2.3 percent, so one image can be resized for the other with a slight crop.
Twofold exports every design at these exact sizes. Get it free on the App Store.
